Base nutrition

Chances are that you are now beginning your plans for next years racing.

Yes, there are still a few races to be done but I’d say most peoples focus is now on next year.

Something that is often overlooked, is that different times of year require different nutrition strategies.

For example, when you are in a “Base” phase you will be doing high volume, low intensity.

If we compare this to “Peak” training phases, where intensity goes up and volume down, your nutrition should be different.

In short low-intensity fuels more on fat and higher intensity on glycogen (product mainly of carbohydrate consumption).

So your macronutrient profile will be different at different times of the year.

There will also be different calorie requirements.

Add to this any weight loss aims and different phases of the year can have vastly different nutritional requirements and if I am honest it is NOT easy to figure out.

As this is my job, I’ve done this hundred, if not thousands of times for people and it works.

I basically match their nutrition to their training at that time and their individual goals.

It’s a feature of my private nutrition coaching group – The Total Triathlete:

The Total Triathlete

On sign up, you will access the private Facebook group where if you post your nutrition and training – I will match up your calories and macronutrient profile.

As your training and aims change, let me know and I will change your nutrition accordingly.

For £10 ($13 apron) a month that is a remarkable deal.

Oh, and you get a FREE copy of my E-book when you join.
