No regrets

Just a very quick one today to wish you all a Happy New Year!

And to say thanks for reading my emails – I still can’t believe I’ve managed to grow such a massive list of Triathletes who read my stuff.

Before we enter 2018, we will all reflect a little on this last year and no doubt set ourselves some lofty goals for the next 12 months.

Some people will achieve them, sadly though most will not.

I’ve been there myself……

Looking back on a year where I thought I was going to make a change, make some progress and then left wondering why it didn’t happen.

What I learned was that I needed to make more of a commitment to myself.

Do something I have not done before because we all know Einstein’s definition of insanity – right?

Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

So many people follow this rule, I’ve done it myself.

I happen to think it’s NOT because were insane!

More likely we are scared to commit in case it doesn’t work.

If we hold a little back, then we can always say:

“I didn’t try hard enough”

or

“Next time I will do……”

Well, maybe its time to be brave.

Time to put yourself on the line – take the chance.

At least then you will know.
