My daily training and nutrition

My daily routine is pretty simple and I’ve found that works best for me.

I get up, eat a good breakfast, usually of omelette, fruit, coffee and rye bread.

I’ll then work for a few hours, then train late morning – this will be followed by a post training snack.

Eat a lunch of salad, rice, protein, green tea and some dark chocolate.
I will then work a few more hours and then have another snack later in the day. Depending on my goals at the time, that could be anything from fruit, hommous, oatcakes, rice cakes etc etc.

An evening meal of protein, lots of veg and maybe some carbs depending on my aims at the time.

I follow this pattern at least six days out of seven and it actually makes me feel happy.

The combination of quality training and good food is like the foundations on which everything else is built.

If they ever go, I don’t feel right.

Times like holiday or Christmas.

I used to force myself to break the routine and almost felt like I should eat badly and do nothing but it didn’t make me happy.

So now when I am away I try to keep some level of normal.

Granted, I won’t train as much and my nutrition will be far from perfect.

With the breakfast omelette I may have a pain au chocolate for example.

I may have a beer with lunch and a couple of glasses of wine in the evening.

I do though try and make sure I eat as many vegetables as I can and good sources of protein, because thats what makes me feel good.

A lot of people I know actually treat themselves an awful lot worse on holiday, which I find interesting. A holiday is meant to be good for you!

The fact is that you can get away with that if your day to day training and nutrition is good for the rest of the year.

When you get back home, if you go back to your old GOOD habits your fitness will soon be back and the couple of pounds of fat you gained will melt away.

ONLY THOUGH, IF…………

You have good habits.

Habits which I talk about in my E book – The Triathlete Nutrition Code:

E-Book

There are five which I talk about and if you nail these daily you will be fit, lean and healthy.

Using these habits as the foundation of your nutrition can actually make everything seem easier and hence increase your chances of success.

Apart form the habits, the book tells you how to eat for your body type, what calories you should aim for and your macro nutrient goals.

Of course there are lots of tasty recipes as well for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.

It even has a chapter on alcohol!!

And…….

It’s only £9.99 or $12 ish.
